Sierra Nevadas, California
There is lots of variety in the Sierra. Travel across the Sierra on the different Tran-Sierra routes, and you will be welcomed with new sites on every turn.
The photograph above is of the back of Mt. Disney at Sugar Bowl on Donner Summit. It was taken from Razorback Ridge above Serene Lakes.
To the right is a view of Marlette Lake with Lake Tahoe in the distance. Although it appears that Marlette Lake is an inlet of Lake Tahoe, it is really one thousand feet highe.
