Colorado, way up high.
High above Aspen, Colorado and the Roaring Fork Valley with resorts, golf courses, ski runs, art shops, restaurants, and hotels, high above the Maroon Bells, is Independence Pass.

Independence Pass is the highest pass in the Continental U.S. and crosses the Continental Divide. Up high, it's beautiful. It's the panorama below.
Up higher still is Lincun Lake (below right), and higher still is an old miner's cabin (bottom) with the remains of mine behind. The trail comes from the days before switch backs. Everything, building materials, food, tools, had to be brought up to 12,000 feet.
Did they find anything of value, besides grand views?
